COMPETITIONS
Qualifier 1: John Jay
We were grateful and delighted to receive the Design, 2nd place Connect, and 3rd place Inspire Award! We paired with 6955 Robovines and 4654 Jellyfish as the Finalist Alliance.
Qualifier 2: Albany Academies
We qualified to the Excelsior Regionals as Winning Alliance Captain with 5356 Tardis and 14281 Ravena Rattlesnakes! We also received 2nd place Design and the Motivate Award!
NY Excelsior Championship
Through lots of hardwork and dedication, a whole new V2 robot, more advanced software, and amazing outreach opportunities, we managed to pull through during the Excelsior Championship in Utica, qualifying to the FTC Championships as captain of the winning alliance. We couldn't be more proud of this team! Thank you to all those who made this possible: our alliance partners 5356 Tardis and 12833 Mechanical Meltdown, our coaches, mentors, parents, all FTC volunteers, and the competition hosts MVCC! Good luck to the 1st and 2nd Inspire Winners 5356 Tardis and 6955 Robovines!
FTC World Championship
We were so grateful to attend the FTC World Championship again this year. We had a great run, getting to be the 4th seed alliance captain, teaming with Taiwanese team 19213 Mystery and Romanian team 21455 RoSophia in the Edison Division. We enjoyed and learned so much from this parternship. We also received 3rd place Think award! Another big thanks to our coaches, mentors, parents, the countless volunteers who organized this event, and donors who facilitated this trip to Houston.
ROBOt
WE WANTED To create a robot that was precise and versatile.
This is what we came up with.
OUR Outreach Program
We pursued our partnership with the Carver Center. We first created an after school program for 4 weeks and then formed and ran a robotics summer camp to serve an underprivileged community with minimal experience in the field.
With the help of our school, FASNY, we hosted and ran our second FLL tournament featuring 18 teams from around NY. We also had the amazing opportunity to demonstrate our robot while initiating the motivated kids to the world of FTC robotics!
Internationationally, with guidance from two UN members, we reconnected with teams from Tunisia and Burkina Faso. We assisted the former with their transition to an AI competition and taught the latter coding through online classes.
